I really enjoy teaching mediation as it gives me the opportunity to share the many benefits that I have personally experienced from having a regular, simple meditation practice. I can now help individuals, schools and businesses to establish and set up simple, effective meditation practices.
Meditation has long been known to help with anxiety and stress and this has now been scientifically proven. A regular 10-minute practice is all it takes to start to benefit from a quieter mind and by engaging in a regular meditation practice you will begin to understand the habits and patterns of your mind. With regular practice you will have the opportunity to deepen into a more peaceful and energised state that has the potential to have a transformative effect and can lead to a new understanding of life.
A regular meditation practice will help to train your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts, increase your awareness of yourself and your surroundings, reduce stress and develop concentration.
Some of the many other benefits can include:
controls and lowers anxiety;
promotes emotional positivity;
encourages and develops clarity;
can decrease blood pressure;
may help to reduce pain.
What’s more, meditation is easy and can be done anywhere.
Using mindfulness, a tool of meditation, is important too. When we lack mindfulness, we become entangled in our thoughts and emotions, our perspective on life narrows and we may lose our way. Being mindful allows us to recognize our options, choose our responses wisely and take control over the direction in our lives. It gives us the opportunity to change our past conditioning and equally importantly, mindfulness leads to insight, wisdom and awakening, allowing us to become the person we want to be.
Establishing a regular practice is not always easy but essential to gain the most benefit from meditation, even a short daily practice is enough to begin to make a difference in someone’s life.
